Welcome to my creative corner of New York's Hudson Valley. A big part of why I live here is the community of writers, photographers, musicians, and other artists who make their home here as well. Their work and vision inspire me in my own.

Creatyve PenCraft is my way of opening more space and opportunity for people like you and me — people who love language and words and image and sound — to come together. My monthly poetry reading series, Coffee, Tea & Poetry, hosted at Fermata Café & Roastery in Marlboro, is one of the ways I bring that idea to life. I hope you'll join us! One week early for Thanksgiving

Once a month, poets, writers, storytellers, and listeners gather at Fermata for an afternoon of inspiring words, company, and coffee. Most months, we open with a featured poet, and then the floor is yours.

Bring a poem, a story, or a piece still finding its way. It can be an original work or a selection by a favorite author. First-time readers are especially welcome. Or simply come to listen, because every reading needs an audience!

Featured Poets

This month, instead of one featured reader, we will celebrate the season of gratitude as a whole community.

I’ll open with a few poems and then the room is yours. Bring a poem about thanks, harvest, family or community, craft and writing, or whatever you’re holding as your bright moments. Bring one of your own, one by a poet you love, or both.

As you arrive, you’ll find a card waiting for you. Write one line about what you’re grateful for this year, and we’ll close the afternoon by reading our gathered lines aloud as a community poem.

Listeners are always welcome.
